The Blue Observatory

1. Whom might be the person behind all of this and how on Earth does that person get anything done?

That person would be Shauna Solaman and it's a wonder how she ever gets anything done either. Although with the help and motivation of various friends, she slowly gets things done.

2. What is behind the decision of the name "Blue Observatory"?

After consulting with Steve Mahabier (whom was kind enough to recommend that I go with Venture Hosting), I finally decided that maybe it was time to get my own domain. The original name I was going to for was "Glass Asylum." Upon a search, I found that that name was taken before. I then decided to go with another varation I came up with earlier -- Blue Observatory. It would have been redundant to say "Glass Observatory," so I opted for one of my favourite colours.

3. About the work found on your site: How was it done? Who are you crediting? What are your policies?

The stories -- The Collective Sorrow and The Tales of Manipulation (Slate I), poetry, photography, (tactile) projects, and traditional art are all my own work. I generally don't have many to credit concerning those particular projects.

As per digital graphics, much of the work is done with brushes, which I've found throughout the net. A list of the brushes used appears in the "Exit" section of this website. Any work I've done that you have found on this website is non-commercial. Even in working along with the collaborations -- on both ends they've been non-commerical.

4. What is the difference between "Orestia" and "Perspectiva Ars"?

Orestia is a personal site that I had kept separate from my other work. Orestia was created in 2002, it has sinced moved around the web. It remains dedicated to my own kind of nonsense, where navigation is more like falling through a rabbit hole trying to find a light. Hence it remains the same and separate even so now. Orestia, I should also note was created on Internet Explorer on a 1024 by 768 screen size. Even when I update or create new layouts, I try to stick closely to it's original intent and design.

Perspectiva Ars (and Myopic, both names selected by Mariel), is where some of my work is housed. (Many of the older works are still kept at my DeviantArt account). Perspectiva Ars, unlike Orestia, was created on Mozilla Firefox, thus best viewed on that browser. In addition, the pixel screen it works on is 1152 by 864, which accounts for it looking ridiculous on anything higher and anything lower than 1024 by 768.

5. Design wise, the dimensions are all off.

I know. Maybe now you'll see the purpose of naming it "perspectiva ars" and "myopic." You should also take note of what resolution you're using in comparision to what was used in designing the site. Orestia is compatible with any screen resolution above 1024 by 768, however finding the links may be hard if you aren't using Internet Explorer. Perspectiva Ars (Myopic) was created on a 1152 by 864 screen size with Mozilla Firefox. Perspectiva Ars becomes skewed at any other screen resolution (except 1024 by 768) and may look odd on other browsers.

6. I notice that there's a strange tie in with Red Laboratory... is it a part of this?

Yes. Red Laboratory is my "company" and you can access the website separately.
