Actually, I'm a Pioneer Falcon

I got into the Master of Science for Early Childhood Education program at Cal State East Bay! I'm pretty proud that I took the steps to apply and got in. The ECE program was my preferred choice of program, but I was more than happy to do Elementary Education when I applied to Masters programs.

A really important part of my going back to school was the ability to do it online. I am a stay at home mom, and I volunteer quite a bit at my kiddo's school. I didn't want to have to sacrifice the time spent with him and the other students as I think it benefits my overall career pursuits.

I've already picked out all my classes for the upcoming Fall term. With that being said, I am a bit nervous about this endeavor. About 12 years ago, I left my job to return to school in hopes of changing my career from marketing to education. That didn't quite work out as I continued in the marketing field after getting my teaching license. Nonetheless, I'm hoping that I can finish my Master's and maybe even go on to an Ed.D.

I'll be starting this exciting new journey next month, the day before my kiddo embarks into 1st grade! We both find it very amusing that I'll be going back to school while he returns to school... And that both of our school mascots are falcons. Now I need to go find him a Falcon plush toy.
