Ailment Cycle
Last week we had the house fumigated, so it's been a lot of work to get the household back in order. I have a long list of tasks and over the weekend, I expected to tackle some of it. Except, the dizziness overtook me and I was unable to accomplish much.
I have anemia, hypoglycemia, and low iron amongst other things. So it's a fine balance to assure that everything is working with another. That means balancing my meds and staggering them correctly. It means that meals are pretty locked in to assure that I'm not just relying on supplements, which barely help. Just to note, they do help, but my measurements are overall low so they are helping me meet the bare minimum.
So when I start feeling off, and usually I can't really describe it well. The world seems off like I might crash, I can't think straight, I can't really stand, and I can't focus, it's hard to quickly narrow down what's wrong. I have to cycle through the majors: Did I have caffeine? Sugar? Did I take certain pills on time? Do I just need to rest? Cycle again till I figure out the issue.
Yesterday it was the anemia, which usually isn't an issue. But as it turns out, a disruption to the foods I was eating due to the household being cleared out of foods in preparation of the fumigation. Then of course, being away and not having my standard meals meant that my iron levels likely got low. By the end of the day, we got it figured out and "fixed" it which meant within a few hours I started feeling better. What sucks is that it took all day to figure out though. The day felt wasted and my chores/errand list just grows as I try to play catch up.
Sometimes I wonder if this is normal. But that's sorta irrelevant because it's my normal. Now that I've hit perimenopause, it's a new factor I have to weigh in. It's all very frustrating and I don't have a solution. I write about this just to vent because it's so annoying but I also know that someone out there might also have the same issue... In which case, I see you and it sucks, I'm sorry.
